Its been a year since I have posted here. A year of a lot of changes including the dog front.

Our Lagotto numbers went from 2 to 4. The 2 new girls being Italian imports who will hopefully strengthen the bloodlines here in Holland if they pass their eye and HD tests.

Dotje is the oldest of the 2. Now 1 and a half years she is a lovely roam girl whom I have always found to be very easy, although she has proved to be quite a good escape artist if left to her own devices for too long. Who can blame her when there is so much excitement to be found in paddocks futher up the road! She lives with a wonderful friend of mine and every few months (some times more often if given the chance) Dotje comes to stay with us for a week or so. She fits into our group so wonderfully and there is never any time needed to fit back in, she just simply does and everyone loves her.

Vaglie, a white-brown female, is a few months younger. She has proved to be the craziest Lagotto I have met up till now. Finding her off button was a challenge ha ha. Not a dog for the faint hearted but if you’re the bossy type like me she is very easy to train with and spurts with willing energy.

I’m very proud of both these girls!!!

At the moment Zanna is showing real sighs that she is pregnant after being mated to Gianni vom Richcastle. He is a wonderfully happy, friendly and lively little guy who lives in Germany with is owner Ute with whom I had so much fun with during the days we were with them for the mating. Thank you so much Ute!
So approximately 15 march I hope I can log in to tell you all about our family expansion!

My lovely Estrela boy Flecha is no longer with us. He was 11 and although his mind was still so good his body started to give up. I am still so sad I had to make the decision to send him to a peaceful end but I know it was the best for him. Forever in my heart he will always be with us.

Knowing that Flecha was not going to be with us for much longer I had asked my great breeder friend (who co-owns Dotje with me) if she would consider me for a Estrela puppy out of a litter what are simply so wonderful. Unfortunately all puppies were already spoken for and I can’t tell you how grateful I am that I am honoured to now look after the breeder’s choice female! So now I co-own an Estrela with her. Such an arrangement of co-owing each others dogs is a stroke of luck as far as I’m concerned :-)
Anyway this “little girl” (who is now bigger than the Lagotti) is now 16 weeks and doing so great. Her name is Kiwi. That’s being named after the Kiwi bird and not the Kiwi fruit! We all love her to bits. She brought sunshine into our lives after the dark cloud of losing Flecha.

Still not being computer minded I have forgotten how to do the photo thing. I found a new photo thingy here in blogger so here is hoping it works... other wise I’m sure they will follow but hay at least I’m finally writing!!!

Best wishes to you all, updates will follow soon…..
