When banished outside because she was dragging in all the dug up plants from outside Rowi takes her "punishment" in style.
She is like a little brown mountain goat.

It never rains but it pours….

Well this is a good rain storm making much grow and blossom.

Dotje and Vaglie mixed up our puppy plans for a while being adorable unpredictable girls. Now they surprised me totally by coming into season within a week of each other!
What to do? Well because of the fact that I have decided to emigrate back to my birth country New Zealand in six months or so time it was important they have their first litters now. Once in NZ it will be a while before I could breed Vaglie making her possibly too old for a first litter. As for Dotje, she will stay in Holland so breeding her would be difficult. Her owner would have breed her for me but I am please we can take that responsibility off her shoulders.

Again Allegro has been the stud. He is just the perfect male for the girls at this time and place.
Out of Dotjes litter I hope to chose a male to accompany us to NZ and hopefully grow up to be an excellent stud for Vaglie and Rowi.

I’m so excited to see what sort of mothers they will be.
I’m guessing Dot will be taking her job very serious and be a strict mum. Possibly she will be fussy whom may come and admire her babies the first few vulnerable weeks of puppy life.
Vaglie on the other hand I think will be overjoyed with so many more family members to be able to clean and groom and will be a very playful and patient mum.

As for Kiwi, she is going to be in heaven with so many Lagotto puppies to mother and love.

Time to be patient and wait…..

Another “naughty photo” Allegro and Vaglie

It took a while but now I’m ecstatic to announce that Dotje has been mated with Multi Champion Cames Cordis Allegro!!!!!!!!!!
The mating went like a dream.
A huge relief since we were not sure when Dotje actually came into season and if there was enough time for Allegro to go the European Dog show in Zagreb before the mating. We did one blood test on Dotje which indicated we pretty much caught the first day of her season and that all things going normal (but nothing is really normal with living things) Allegro could go and get his championships (we laughingly decided that a positive approach to his show outcome would be worth the gamble of him going) and be back in time for the mating. He got his championship and he was back in time!
Dotje was very cool about meeting Allegro through the fence but once let into the same space as Allegro she turned all girly and they loved each other and after the proper introductions they got down to business.
Now lets hope she gets pregnant and we have another litter of joy!

A lovely summers day at the fresh water beach....

First we have to walk over the dyk to get to the beach side. The grass had just been mowed and grass packed into huge packages of air tight hay.
Plenty of moll holes to inspect!!!

Pff, ok the smells were good but didn’t find anything in the end so time to look pretty before running down to the water.....


My plan was to have a photo of all the dogs running to the water but they were quicker than I could get organised. Nice photo of the beach though :-)


Ohhhhhh what a dogs life...... 30 degrees and wonderful fresh water to cool us off.
