As usual another busy day for Rowi...

First this naughty Rowi has to beat up Vaglie....

And then do the same with Kiwi. Its important to let them know who's boss right from the start.

Mannn this is really tiering stuff... can hardly keep my eyes open...zzz

On Saturday Kiwi totally surprised me by doing great with her "obedience B" exams and passed with flying colours. And to think the day before I was thinking of not going because I didn’t think she would pass. Sorry Kiwi, I will never doubt you again.
I have “borrowed” 2 photos from our dog school KC Gooi and Eemland taken during our exams, so thank you to them.

Kiwi laying for 2 minutes.

Our second surprise of the Saturday was that Dono (son from Zanna’s second litter), who was also in our training class passed with the highest score of the day!

Dono retrieving and doing it perfectly!
How proud we are of these two!!!

Today Rowi did the surprising things showing her next step in life. She learned to jump up on a chair and finally be able to share it with Vaglie. Too cute. Thankfully the novelty wore off quickly and she stays on the floor again.

She is such a laid back stable little girl and so easy to have around. I took her to a birthday party today and she loved it and behaved perfectly. I was very proud of her! Up till now she just thinks every situation I put her in is normal and gets on with her own thing with out a care in the world. I suspect she is going to make life very interesting ;-)

Yesterday we went for a walk with friends that also have puppies. The grown-up dogs were there too of course. It was perfect weather and we all enjoyed it very much.

The puppy group is from left: Catootje mix Tibetan terrier/poodle, Shih Tzu who’s name I forgot, Hugo a Bracco Italiano and Rowi laying on her back having to be the underdog for the moment.

Floyd the Great Dane likes to think he's still a puppy but is 6 years old boy now.

Floyd just getting out of the water. He doesn’t swim bless him, but gets his legs wet and has a good drink.
If it wasn’t for the dribble and their short pointy hair that gets into everything (including your underpants I have heard) I would love one of these gentle giants.
I just love this photo of Hugo! Isnt he a splended looking boy!
During the walk Kiwi was off on her usual mouse hunts. Kiwi only has interest in the mice because of her huge popularity with the Lagotti when she catches one. She will bounce around with the poor mouse usually held by its tail between her front teeth. The Lagotti are in immediate pursuit waiting their chance to grab the mouse and eat it.
I usually managed to get Kiwi to come to me and put her on the lead even though she has a mouse that she is very protective of. I have to tell her what a very cleaver girl she is :-/....... but it works and for a while she is aloud to keep her mouse. Zanna and Vaglie are suddenly the best dogs in the world keeping close to us doing such a perfect "heal". At some stage Kiwi dose indeed let go of the mouse and its a race who gets the free meal. Well it fits in a raw diet be it a little father fetch than I would personally wish for.
From left: Kiwi, Zanna, me, Vaglie and at the back Rowi wondering if she should go investigate what we cant see.
THE MOUSE! Note fluffy camouflaged Lagotto head under mouse :-)

Its been such beautiful weather in Holland, esp. for the time of year. And we have been so enjoying it! Ofcourse when the weather is so nice there is less time for updating this diary. Now it is raining and I have no excuse not to let you see my lovely girls enjoying themselfs in the last days

Zanna waiting for us to catch up. Our pretty baby Rowi looking oh so cute. Pity I cant show you a movie of her walking. When moving her cute little butt makes everyone smile.
Kiwi having a drink. She always has to get totaly wet to drink.... If you look closly you can see her tounge

Vaglie waiting for me to thouw the ball. She is such a worker!

Tieka totaly enjoying herself rolling in the grass. She makes such funny noises when she dose this. This was actually on a steep sloop to the water and I was waiting for her to accedently slide into the water. She didnt which spoiled our fun a little LOL.
And last but not least a photo how Kiwi and Rowi play togeather. Kiwi is so gentel and only holds the rope while Rowi thinks she is being so tought tugging as hard as she can.

May 2, 2007 was a big day for us. We have a new family member.

Let me introduce you to “Diva Nila v. t. Wie Dach-ie”! We call her “Rowi”.

I didn’t intend to expand our family right now but the moment I met Rowi I just fell in love with her!!! Not only dose she have a great pedigree but she is just perfect in body and sole :-)

Daan and Giena kept me in suspense while they debated whether to sell her to me or keep her themselves.
Im so glad they chose me to be her new owner.
Thanks so much Giena and Daan!

Eager to pick Rowi up as soon as possible I drove straight from work after an early shift to pick her up and enjoy her for the coming days off from work. I first spent a lovely few hours with Daan in the yard with perfect warm weather admiring Rowi and the rest of the pups before driving home again to introduce her to my 4 girls. Carrying Rowi in my arms I opened the door and immediately all the girls knew there was a new member and were absolutely thrilled to meet her. It was then that I was truly sure Rowi is the perfect addition.

This pretty, happy and social little girl is going to be so much fun.
Vaglie trots around Rowi, tail held high ever so pleased with such a new playmate.
Kiwi is so soft and patient with this new small baby.
Zanna sees Rowi is going to be tough competition in the “cute looks department” but wages her tail at her never the less.
And Tieka is the strict but kind “grandma” as she always is with pups.

Photos? Yeah well you try making nice in focus photos of quick moving puppies and dogs. And to tell the truth I forgot to take my camera with me on our slow walk in the park. So one taken in the bathroom this morning and one playing with Kiwi is it for today. Rowi is sooo much cuter in real life.
